This Dexcom Transmitter is used to continuously monitor the patient's blood sugar.  A diabetic is unable to produce insulin. Without insulin, blood sugar can rise to dangerous levels. These transmitters are part of a system that alerts the patient to her current blood sugar. It replaces repeated finger pokes and utilizes technology to greatly enhance the care of a diabetic.
