About the Role
Key Responsibilities
I. Pharmaceutical Care & Dispensing
Accurately and efficiently review, process, and dispense prescription medications, ensuring adherence to all state and federal regulations, professional standards, and pharmacy policies.
Conduct thorough prospective and retrospective drug utilization reviews (DURs) to identify and resolve potential drug therapy problems, including drug-drug interactions, contraindications, and appropriate dosing.
Provide comprehensive Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services, including patient assessments, developing care plans, and collaborating with prescribers to optimize therapeutic outcomes.
Maintain accurate inventory of pharmaceutical and supply stock, oversee ordering, and ensure proper storage and security.
II. Patient & Community Service
Provide detailed counseling to patients on the proper use of their medications, potential side effects, and adherence strategies, utilizing empathetic and culturally sensitive communication.
Serve as a resource for healthcare information, addressing patient and provider questions regarding drug information, formulary alternatives, and complex regimens.
Actively participate in community outreach and health screening events sponsored by All Together Pharmacy or partner organizations.
Coordinate with patient assistance programs (PAPs) and other financial aid resources to maximize medication affordability for patients.
III. Operations & Compliance
Supervise pharmacy technicians, interns, and volunteers, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
Maintain meticulous records of all dispensing activities, patient consultations, and controlled substance transactions.
Ensure the pharmacy facility and operations are in continuous compliance with HIPAA, Board of Pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and charitable pharmacy licensing standards.
Assist in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
Required
Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.S.Pharm.) from an accredited college of pharmacy.
Licensure: Current and unrestricted Pharmacist license in Michigan. Additional state licensure is preferred.
Experience: One or 2 years of experience as a licensed Pharmacist, preferably in a retail, community, or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong clinical knowledge, and proficiency with pharmacy management software.
Preferred
Experience working in a non-profit, charitable, or public health setting.
Fluency in secondary languages, e.g., Spanish.
Certification in specialty areas (Immunization Delivery).
