I. Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree preferred. A degree in Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Pharmacy, or a related field is strongly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in patient intake, care coordination, social services, or a related administrative role within the healthcare sector.
Highly Desirable Experience: Prior experience as a social worker or case manager in a hospital, long-term care facility, or community health setting is a significant asset.
II. Core Knowledge and Skills
Healthcare Systems Knowledge:Â Strong working knowledge of the complex healthcare delivery system, including familiarity with insurance types (Medicaid, Medicare), patient assistance programs (PAPs), and referral workflows.
Data Entry Proficiency:Â High level of accuracy and efficiency in data entry, specifically using pharmacy management systems (PMS)Â or electronic health records (EHR).
Patient Confidentiality:Â Demonstrated understanding of and strict adherence to HIPAAÂ and patient confidentiality regulations.
Interpersonal Communication:Â Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for interacting with patients, social workers, referring providers, and internal pharmacy staff with empathy and clarity.
Problem-Solving:Â Ability to resolve complex intake issues and navigate barriers to patient enrollment efficiently.
